And So It GoesAnd So It Goes - CD

The Priory Singers celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2009. This recording represents a cross section of the music that has been at the heart of the choir's repertoire for the past ten years.

This is the debut album by the Priory Singers. And So It Goes is a collection of pieces representing the best of their unaccompanied repertoire. And So It Goes features music spanning the centuries, from the beautiful setting of Ave Verum Corpus by William Byrd to Charles Stanford's The Bluebird. Tracks such as Billy Joel's Lullabye and the album's namesake sit alongside popular classics such as The Way You Look Tonight and One Voice, whilst classical choral pieces by composers from Tallis to Tavener provide music to suit all moods.

A recent reviewer on Amazon wrote:

'There are some great standards here excellently sung by the Priory Singers and with fine solo singing too. Unusually, this fine a cappella group sing well in tune and with perfectly graduated tone and sensitive feeling - if you like this music try it!'

Become a Patron

The Priory Singers' Patrons scheme asks our audience to support the choir for the season. In return for £30, patrons are guaranteed tickets to our major concert for the year, acknowledgement of their support in our programmes and a newsletter giving exclusive insights into the choir, as well as details of future events. Patrons can also buy our album And So It Goes at a discounted price, in recognition of the contribution they make to the choir's success.
Our Patrons enable us to plan for concerts with confidence. Last November, their support allowed us to call on the talents of members of the Welsh Sinfonia for our performance of Bruckner's Mass in E Minor and Pearsall's Requiem. The result was music of a professional standard, ensuring a memorable evening for our audience.
This year's major concert brings us up to date with two 21st Century works: John Rutter's Mass of the Children and the Welsh première of Bob Chilcott's Requiem. We invite you to help us prepare by becoming a Patron of the Priory Singers, or renewing your valued patronage. Remember, the benefits of patronage are:

  • Two tickets to the season's major concert
  • Acknowledgement of your support in each of our concert programmes
  • Newsletter keeping you up to date with forthcoming events
  • Discount of 10% on the price of And So It Goes

Please consider becoming a Patron and getting involved in the life of the choir. Our ambition has always been to make the highest quality music from an innovative and eclectic repertoire, and the support you give will help us do this – and more!
